CUT HILL COMPETITION
Like a Henry Moore sculpture surveying the escarpment, the new house at Cuthill is like a couple at peace in the landscape. She dressed in a York Stone Jacket, pressed tin bodice and flowing glass skirt that tinkles in the light. A modern interpretation of York fashion. Her walled garden provides fruit trees, vegetables and herbs with a long trestle table for lunches under the vines of her protected garden. He is grounded in the hill looking east, perched over the ridge. His games room is the link between the two, with a circular courtyard garden where the round fire is located. His coat is thicker, courser and darker, the clothes he wears are that of farm sheds and ride on mowers. Together they are in harmony with the environment.
